English Lenguage Challenges

I find that my experience learning English at the University has been fun, since I like to participate in classes, play memorize ... find meaning in sentences, I feel that I have learned many things, maybe in the University they do not teach with grammatical structures, but unconsciously one is forming them alone.

The use of blogs has been fundamental, since it has allowed me to write in English more easily and little by little one is writing more fluently. However, I feel that I have to improve my way of speaking, since it is very difficult for me, I speak very slow and I stop to the words large, as well as not having different voice tones. When I realized this problem, I started to see a many series to treat to say the sentences in english with the same tones of voice or sometimes I see lyrics of songs and I try to pronounce the letter in english.

Now I must be honest, I like to learn to speak english is so fascinate! that I study in my house, I learn new words and grammar, the verbs in the past or in the future to include them in my day to day.

I want to learn good to speak english because I feel it is a basic tool to know other countries, I feel that a person can’t know countries outside of Latin America without knowing English. Is very difficult communicate with other peoples.

I hope learn write, speak and read english, because apart for go out the country, it serves me for read paper scientific

Changes to my study programme

I studied food engineering at the University of Chile. My career has 70 branches and the duration is 5 years and one semester. As I go in the second year, I can’t speak as changes in general, only changes of branches and situations that I have lived, one of these is to modify two branches that are taught in the first year, which is an introduction to engineering in food I and II, which I believe is a very important branch, which I consider to be a very important branch, but that with a semester is sufficient, the other change that I would add to that branch is a new curriculum, that is something more didactic and innovative, that calls the attention of the students

In my faculty I find that he lacks more affection, so to speak. I feel that the facilities are not adequate and the spaces to have "university life" are very lacking, at the same time, a better library is missing, that has everything necessary to carry out a good afternoon of group study and I say in a group because one of the most positive aspects is that in my faculty there are individual study rooms that are the best, They are air-conditioned, they have a plug, they are clean and the schedule is very good, since we have the facility that they open the rooms at six in the morning and close them at nine, giving us a flexible and adequate schedule.

Regarding teaching methods, it can be said that some teachers have good methods and other bad methods, but this happens everywhere, however I feel that all teachers should have good teaching methods and be willing to teach.

My faculty is not the best to be honest, but things have changed between my first year and the second, now we have grass and soon they will open a new building designed for us students, but hopefully place more innovative facilities that serve us much more, as a suitable place to have lunch, since in winter it is difficult to have a place to have lunch, among other things, I hope that over the years future students can enjoy a better environment than I am living. In truth, these changes go hand in hand with technology, nobody knows if the day of tomorrow the classes will be only online or maybe now they are holograms or that in the laboratories there are more robots than people. I just hope that future changes are positive.

One of the most positive things that can be appreciated in my faculty thanks to technology, is that each room has a DATA and that gives us the facility for the teacher to explain the subject and we take notes on the slides.

• What is your opinion about violence on television?

I think that by showing violence on television at times not suitable for adults, is to incite violence in people. For example, imagine a nine-year-old boy watching a program on TV and showing scenes of violence, this child may associate violence with normality or associate that he must be violent. Now if they show violence at adult hours, I think it's okay, because adults must be mature enough to create an opinion if what they observe is right or wrong.

• What is your opinion about buying instead of adopting pets?

This is a subject that I like to discuss, because I feel that buying animals is a profit with life. The truth is that I really hate to buy animals, because of all the animals that are in the house the vast majority end up on the street for different reasons, either because they escape, because the family must move, because there is no space, because they can’t have it, etc. However, I believe that no reason is valid, because if you take care of a pet it is because you can have it and that is why I make that decision. What do I want to get with this? Good so you're going to buy a pet, If you can give all the love and affection to one who was left on the street and perhaps what conditions had to live for the abandonment of his old home.

• What is your opinion about climate change?

I have always had the notion that climate change that is generated today is only the responsibility of humanity.  In other words, look at us! Today we no longer know what spring or fall is, the days are summer or winter. We just have to be aware and try to fix our error as human beings.

• What is your opinion about recycling?

Recycling is a good way to reduce environmental pollution, I don’t know if you do it, but in my house recycled practically since I was born, since my parents have always taught me that. However, nowadays another problem with recycling is being generated and it is that companies that recycle sometimes receive some materials as sometimes they don’t. For example, in many places they no longer receive milk packaging in boxes because there are so many (that's the reason given in the green dot, when I asked), however in other green points, if they receive them.

From cartoons, animes to TV series

When I was a little girl, I was a big fan of animes, I saw many animes like mew mew power, inuyasha, tsubasas chronicles, kamisama hajimemashita, etc. I really like it a lot, since I still see animes from time to time. Sometimes I also read mangas, in fact, I have several that I exchange with other people. Nowadays I see several cartoons with my little brother, but what we see the most are movies, I'm a big fan of training your dragon, hotel Transylvania and toy story.

I think that cartoons have a great importance in my life, since I am very entertained when I see them, I spend a lot of time seeing it and they distract me a lot. I have always thought that, when watching cartoons or movies, you put yourself in the place of the character and that at that moment the problems that this cartoon faces are your problems ...I don't know, I think I have a lot imagination.

The cartoons that I saw with my family was the pink panther, Detective Conan and The Flintstones, they gave them on national channels, so it was not very difficult to see them. I remember that every time a chapter started, my dad would bring cookies, put them in a platter and we would sit on the couch. Today we see gravity fall and star versus the forces of evil, it is very cool to see the face of emotion to my little brother when we all sit on the couch.

When I'm with my friends we occasionally talk about movies like training your dragon, spirit, hotel Transylvania, the Lorax, among others. I think the area of ​​films is very broad and that's why we have so many categories to talk about, but I think we all share that inner child that likes cartoons.

If you ask me what caricature I recommend, I have a huge list, but yes or if I would recommend "The book of life", since it leaves an important moral. Another caricature I would recommend is The Lorax, I sincerely feel that this cartoon represents all the damage that the human does to the ecosystem, which leaves an incredible moral, others movies similar are "Land of bears" or "Spirit".

Post Graduate Studies

Since I started studying at university I have always had the mentality to specialize in the area of ​​my career, it is for this reason that within my options I would like to specialize in:

• ·         Management, quality and food safety (Ma)
• ·         Natural and healthy ingredients (PhD)
• ·         Nutrition and food (PhD)

I also consider that specializing in some area opens many doors in the labor field, since today many companies prefer a professional specialized in some area.

I would like to do these studies in Chile or abroad, the truth where the opportunity would be good, as long as you are satisfied with what you do. However, I would not like to study at a distance, since I learn more in classes, I like university life, meet people and face new challenges.

Some Ma offer different schedules, so that your studies do not interfere with your work, that is quite good, since having more options, opportunities grow.

Now finding out about Mas and PhDs. I must share my new knowledge and I did not know that I could get a degree and then do a master's degree or a doctorate and the truth is that I would consider it a very good option.

The reasons why I would like to continue studying are many, but within those reasons it is because I want to travel, to know different parts of the world. Also, I would like to help my parents financially and support them with my little brother.

My Dream Job

Within my dream job, I would like it to be in a laboratory (I really like to be in them), but I would also like to go out into the field, it would not be funny to be locked up all the time. I would also like to know other countries and go to conferences where knowledge is bilateral for everyone and gradually get to know typical places like the Colosseum in Rome, the Eiffel Tower, among other places.

Regarding salary, Of course I would like to earn a lot of money. Who would not like it? I am a person who likes to spend money on things that sometimes do not even need, being sincere is like a therapy,  I'm happier when I go shopping than when I do not have money.

I am currently studying food engineering, but I still do not choose what I want to dedicate myself to because every time I think about the work that I will do when I graduate from my career, I enter into discussion with myself. The truth I still do not know what specialty I want to take, but within any decision I make, I care more about being happy and being calm with what I am doing in the future.

The development of silver nanoparticles in the area of ​​food is very important, since they are used in the manufacture of paper containers, because they have antimicrobial properties, which favors the preservation of food for a longer time. Its development has been so great that it is expected that one day it will be considered a nutritional supplement.

The reason why I chose this topic is because I get a lot of attention, it is also an innovative topic in the area of ​​food (just discovered in 2003 and with the name “nanofoods”) since these particles were known only in the area of ​​textiles and electronics. However, being honest, I knew this type of particle through news, but only today I knew that it had a strong impact on food.

The future of these particles is huge, since as they investigate their characteristics, the areas where they can develop will be greater.

One of the great disadvantages of using silver is introduced into the environment, since the waste generated by these containers falls to the environment, which causes other species to absorb silver easily, creating a problem in the ecosystem.

The dilemma that is generated with the development of this technology, is that silver is toxic to the human body, however these nanoparticles provide a very low dose that does not become toxic or harmful to health, however many people they oppose the development of this technology in food.

My Pets

I would like to start by saying that all animals are beautiful within their qualities, they all have something that makes them different and unique. Not because they are wild animals, they should not deserve love or because they have made a mistake they must be punished with death. However, my favourite animal is cats ... I love cats, I find that they are very clean, intelligent and crafty creatures.

I have three cats, if they are fed up, but all three are very important in my day to day, their names are:

Missifus

I adopted the Missifus 7 years ago, it was very handy when I arrived at the house, I did not let her make love to her, much less take her in my arms, but over time she became fond and now she does not live without my jajajaja how egocentric I am, but it’s serious, for example when I go on a trip in the summer and leave it with my parents, my cat does not eat and she looks at the window, there's no one to take her out of there. Nowadays he sleeps with me and he takes off from me, even when I study, I have to place a cushion next to my notebooks so he can lie down, otherwise he will not let me calm down.

Gaspar and Lucas

I adopted Gaspar 5 years ago. Gaspar is a very special being, he is very lazy, he does nothing, only sleep and eat, but it is so affectionate, it is all the day on top of one and he is very jealous, for example if I take the Missi in my arms, Gaspar arrives and places himself in the middle, he is so funny.

Finally my Luquitas. I picked Lucas from the street 2 years ago. The truth I picked up for grief, I was two months old and I saw that they were going to run over him, so I took him and took him home. His life is about efforts and fights every day, he has problems to the kidneys and the stomach to cause eating bags when he was so small, recently they detected a problem in his eyes, so his pupils do not dilate and he will soon be blind. Lucas is really angry, he does not let them take him or care for him, but sometimes he has his moments of tenderness. What if he always sleeps with me and is so grateful with the things that always bring me bugs at the foot of the bed. But as I always say to Lucas, you do not have to understand it, you just have to love it.

Pupuya

To be honest I have had many unforgettable holidays, some with my group of friends and another with my family, so it is very difficult to decide for the best, because in all of them I did different things and I met new places.

The holidays that I remember most with joy are those of January 2013, when I met Pupuya with my family. We arrived at a cabin that is on top of a hill, which was wonderful, since it had everything one needed to travel, I remember that when we arrived, we kept things and started playing carioca while we shared a very nice family moment.

The next day we wanted to go to the beach and the truth is that we did not know where it was, at that time we did not have a car and in Pupuya there were no buses, or at least where we were, so we had to cross a kind of customs sand to get to the beach that was seen from the cabin, that road we travelled all day, since we liked to go to the beach a lot. When we were there, we laughed a lot, we sang, we played and we bathed, but what caught our attention was that there were not many people on the beach, for summer it's very long, right?

We were in Pupuya 3 weeks, which were very entertaining, every day we did different things and in the evening we had something while playing, without a doubt they have been one of the best vacations I have had, I love going out with the family.

PD: Then when we returned to Santiago, we discovered that the beach where we were going was not suitable for bathing and that the beach of Pupuya was down the hill, but on the other side and that there was a bus that left us there

Iceland

I would like to visit Iceland because I find that it is a very country that has many tourist attractions, besides is very beautiful.

What I know about this country are many things, because all my life I have dreamed with go. Within these things, I know that in the north of Iceland you can see the whales and there exist a lagoon, called blue lagoon which is used like a Spa. On the other hand, there are more than 25 different waterfalls, inside of them the one that I like the most is Gullfoss, the golden waterfall and you can visit the Thorsmork valley which is a path of a volcano. I do not know Iceland has so many geographical data, tourist activities and different events that I could be talking all day about it.

Some curious facts are:

• ·     Due to the weather, there are no ants
• ·   Iceland is one of the countries where books are bought the most, having a literacy of almost 99.9% of the population
• ·    It has no army and no air forces

When I got to know this country I would like to do everything that I have mentioned and more, hopefully to know all the waterfalls that it has and participate in all the activities that are organised.

The truth is that I would not live there, but maybe once I go I do not want to return, I do not know you never know. But in case I stayed, I would like to work and contribute my bit to that country.
