When I grow I want to be...

I have always believed that this phrase has a bad start, because in life already are somebody, but we have not yet developed into nothing. It can be perspective of each one, but my I do not personally like.

At the beginning every time they asked me what it would be like when I grew up, I would respond that I wanted to be a good person and help the street dogs. Then as I was growing up I wanted to become a veterinarian, carabiner, military, dancer or cartoon designer.

I went through so many options, but finally I decided on area of science. The truth was not easy going from art to science, but I had people who supported me with every decision and eventually became my role model. Maybe they are not people as important to the world as Isaac Newton, Stephen Hawking or Albert Einstein, but for me they are the people who guide me every day to fight for what I want and help me in the moments when I need it the most.

My sister is Karen Salas. She is a graduate of the University of Chile in 2013, currently she is 27 years old and has three titles related to her area. Today she works in the security Mutual and has attended more than 500 people saving their lives or simply helping them in their last moments, either with a smile or with an attention. She is my greatest admiration, not only for being my sister, but rather because she has shown me that every effort has its reward. She supports me when I need her the most and every time I see her at work, I think "Will I be as successful as my sister? Can I be as smart as her one day?"

My cousin is Alex Salas, he is a professor of physics and technology from the pedagogical university of Chile in 2015, but before that he studied chemistry in the metropolitan technological university until 2006 and is currently 34 years old. Nowadays he works doing classes in the CEPECH pre-university. He is my admiration because he taught me that we can all make mistakes, the important thing is to know how to get up again, he taught me that life does not depend on always making good decisions, but on trying and never giving up. My cousin changed his career at 20 years old like me and he shows me day by day that this was the best decision he could have made, since what he likes best about his job is to bring science to schoolchildren and help them understand that science is not as complicated as it looks.

My cousin is Javier Campos, he is an engineer in computer science graduate from the University of Santiago de Chile and is currently 34 years old. Today he works in Germany and he is my admiration because he taught me that it is never too late to achieve your dreams. My cousin now knows more than 16 countries, is currently getting to know Egyptian and he teaches me with every trip that, if you want, you can do it.

They have not contributed something as great as the scientists mentioned above, but for me it is not less than saving lives, teaching others the importance of science or taking foreign knowledge to their work area.

These three people are my role model, my admiration, my goal to follow.

The music in my life.
Music is the most direct art, enters through the ear and goes to the heart - Magdalena Martínez

I have always thought that music is something fundamental in the life of human beings, since without it things would be very boring. Can you imagine that the concert did not exist? What comedies did not have musical effects at times of stress? Can you imagine a life without music? Nevertheless, the music accompanies us all life since we are born untril we die, danced with her, laugh, cry, sing, play, etc.

Leonard Bernstein once said "music to name the Unnamable and communicate the unknown". For me this phrase completely reflects my perception of music, since in addition to the musical rhythm, I really like the songs that have a meaning for me. An example of this is "moments - Eduardo Gatti" which makes me remember my grandfather who died 15 years ago, reminds me to it because we sing it at his funeral.

As I said before also I fixed in the musical rhythm, but the truth is very wide, even though I love the rock, I also like romantic music and cumbia. I feel that my musical taste is undefined. I hear groups such as System of a Down, Rammstein, Deftones, Alice in Chains, Camila Gallardo, Grand Funk, Jimmy Hendrix, Maluma, La Moral distraida, Mon Laferte, Kudai, Paramore, Pxnda, etc.

System of a Down - Hypnotize

Mon Laferte - My good love
All Along The Watchtower - Jimmy Hendrix

When I was small also I listened to these groups, but also listened to or rather I still hear, music Japanese or tv series of Chile, for examples Amango or SOS rebellious heart.

Amango

SOS rebellious heart

I can't say that this music already I don't like, since it brings back many memories of when it was small, so occasionally I still hear it.

Also when I was little the Spirit film, liked it very much so all your music know it me and sing it when I do the toilet or I'm studying. I find that this film without music would be very boring.

I will not give up - Spirit

Others song of movies that I remember

You will live in my heart - Tarzán

Hakuna Matata - The lion King

While I have spoken quite a lot of music and the importance that has been in my life, not touch any instrument. I remember that once to a guitar shop, but as much as you try, unable to play guitar, I just think that I am not made to generate music, but rather just to listen to it.

Iceland

Since I was little I’ve always wanted to know Iceland, but so far I have not had the opportunity. I love this country for many reasons, among them is that it has many waterfalls, its terrain is different and vast, you can see the northern lights and has some beautiful glaciers.  People are happy and they continue to speak their native language, which is an example to follow.

Vatnajökull glacier - David Clapp

One of the photos that I like most about this beautiful country it’s the Vatnajökull glacier (southeast national park of Iceland) taken by David Clapp in the year 2016. This picture I like because besides showing the first thing I want to know about Iceland, transmits the simplicity of the human being before nature or at least that’s what he transmits to me.

The human being thinks he owns the world by building and developing with the steps of the years, but in this photo the opposite is shown, it is nature that sustains the human and can do what he wants with it.

On the other hand, this picture I like because I have it hanging in my room and every time I see it, I am motivated to finish my career and to be able to meet Iceland.
